The followings are items that you may include in your proposal for application to the MPhil and PhD Programmes in Cultural Studies at CUHK:
1) Area of interests; 2) History of the problem identified for research; 3) Proposed thesis and arguments of your project; 4) Brief outline of the thesis/dissertation proposed; 5) Preliminary list of primary and secondary references
Length of proposals (for reference only): MPhil 5-8 pages, about 2,000 to 3,200 words; PhD 10-12 pages, about 4,000 to 4,800 words
Language: Either Chinese or English
Writing Sample:
A sample of writings (MPhil: undergraduate term paper/research paper; PhD: Master's thesis/ representative research paper)
