Transcript:
A copy of transcripts from each undergraduate and graduate school you have attended should also be uploaded with your application. Please note that uploaded copies of transcripts are considered unofficial, so you will still need to have official copies sent to the Rackham Graduate School.
Curriculum Vitae:
A copy of your resume or CV.
Personal Statement:
The academic statement of purpose should outline your goals while attending graduate school.
Recommendation Letter:
Three letters of recommendation should be submitted electronically through the online application system or via snail mail to the Women’s Studies Department. You can find the letter of recommendation form through the online application.
Personal Statement:
A personal statement should describe how your personal background and life experiences, including social, cultural, familial, educational, or other opportunities or challenges, motivated your decision to pursue a graduate degree at the University of Michigan. This is not an academic statement of purpose, but a discussion of the personal journey that has led to your decision to seek a graduate degree.
Writing Sample :
The writing sample should demonstrate the applicant's research interests and academic capabilities. Ideally, but not necessarily, this means a term paper; an excerpt from a thesis is also acceptable. The average submission is 10-20 pages; all writing samples should be no more than 25 pages.
