Your research statement should be no longer than two pages (1200 words) in length. This should be written for a broad audience. Spell out your past and future research interests and include any relevant background information. The statement will look different depending on whether you are applying for the MA or the PhD; we expect our PhD applicants to provide a much more detailed outline of their research trajectory and their anticipated research project.
