　　On behalf of the Fuqua Career Management Center, welcome to the Master of Management Studies: Foundations of Business program. We are excited to share with you some news on how you can jump start your career prior to beginning the program in July.
 

　　"Employers taking part in National Association of College and Employers' (NACE's) Job Outlook 2010 survey expressed a strong prerence for candidates who had taken part in an internship. More than three-quarters of responding employers said they prer candidates with the kind of relevant work experience gained through an internship."
 

　　"Regardless of the state of the job market, employers consistently report a prerence for candidates who have relevant work experience?" says Marilyn Mackes, NACE executive director. "In the current job market, with employers having fewer opportunities and a larger pool of candidates to consider, that internship experience is crucial."
 

　　As potential employers value a candidate's internship experiences, we highly recommend you participate in a summer internship experience between graduation and the beginning of the MMS program. Using this six to eight week time frame to gain work experience will benit your academic and career pursuits.
 

　　Below is a list of organizations currently offering unpaid internships. Please note that the Fuqua Career Management Center does not verify the validity or authenticity of the jobs or internships that are posted, but simply provides links to them for your convenience. 　　You can view each organization's job description and submit your resume for specific positions through Fuqua's job database, CareerCompass. You will receive an email with information on how to access CareerCompass, including your user name, password and instructions for submitting your resume for positions in which you are interested. Each company will follow up directly with candidates in which they are interested in response to their applications. Please note that some of these internship experiences may have the potential to continue during your winter break as well as spring break.
 

　　Additional opportunities may become available so please continue to check CareerCompass for updates. Although the opportunities currently in the system have a resume deadline of May 23, employers are able to access the resumes immediately after submission so we encourage you to submit your resume as soon as possible for opportunities in which you are interested.
