　　Assistant Professor of Chemistry & Biochemistry

　　THE DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY AND BIOCHEMISTRY within the Division of Physical Sciences at UC San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and invites applications for the Dean's Excellence search, which includes tenure-track faculty positions in Chemistry and Biochemistry. Experimentalists or theorists in all areas of chemistry and biochemistry are encouraged to apply, especially those with a strong interdisciplinary focus that aligns with environmental chemistry, energy and material sciences, chemical biology, or biochemistry/biophysics. Candidates must have a Ph.D. with a substantial record of research accomplishment as well as an innovative research and teaching plan. The successful candidate will be expected to teach chemistry and/or biochemistry courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Prerred candidates will have the potential for leadership in areas contributing to diversity, equity, and inclusion and will have a strong desire to play a future role in helping to shape and expand the University's diversity initiatives ( We especially welcome candidates who have experience with and wish to contribute to programs that increase the access and success of underrepresented students and faculty in the sciences.
