邀请函一般包含以下内容，但是也不局限于以下内容：

⚫ 邀请人的名字，在美居住类型；

⚫ 如果邀请人是F-1或J-1签证的学生，需要邀请人表明自己在某学校的全日制学生身份，学位类型和所学专业；

⚫ 如果邀请人是J-1访问学者或H-1B工作签证身份，邀请信中写清楚自己的工作职位，所在部门等；

⚫ 被邀请人的姓名和生日；

⚫ 邀请人与被邀请人的关系(父母，家人，朋友等)；

⚫ 受邀原因(参加毕业典礼，小孩儿出生，旅游等)；

⚫ 邀请信中写出被邀请人入境日期和离境日期；

⚫ 邀请信中写出被邀请人来美时的资金支持情况。

如果邀请人将支付被邀请人在美期间所有的消费，邀请人尽量提供一份银行开具的存款证明，表明自己有足够的资金支付被邀请人所有的花费和开销。

⚫ 邀请信中还要明确表达出被邀请人在美只是短暂停留，一旦停留日期到期，被邀请人会按时回国，同时也可以陈述被邀请人回国的原因以保证信息的真实性，比如回国工作，财产的约束情况或者其他具有很强约束力的原因。

邀请人需提供给被邀请人：

⚫ I-94卡；

⚫ 移居类型，比如F-1签证的I-20表格，J-1签证的DS-2019表格或者H-1B签证用到的I-797同意声明；

⚫ 如果是在美留学生，可以提供学校开出的Advising report.
