　　Microsoft founder Bill Gates has said China is the "best place" for the young to fulfill their ambitions tomake the world a better place.

　　微软创始人比尔·盖茨近日表示，对想实现理想、将世界变得更美好的年轻人来说，中国是最好的地方。

　　In a lecture to Peking University students, thebillionaire philanthropist described the skepticismin some developed countries about whetherglobalization works for ordinary people.

　　在为北京大学学生做演讲时，这名亿万富豪兼慈善家表示，一些发达国家对全球化能否为普通民众带来好处持质疑态度。

　　He said the results of the US presidential election and the Brexit vote showed how any countrymay turn inward when confronted with difficult issues like immigration, security and globaldevelopment.

　　他表示，美国总统大选和英国脱欧公投的结果显示，任何国家在面对移民、安全和全球发展等难题时都可能出现国内优先的倾向。

　　In a world suddenly short of experienced leaders, Gates commended China for assuminggreater responsibility for critical global issues like climate change and inclusive development.

　　在世界突然缺少经验丰富的领导者时，盖茨赞扬中国在气候变化和普惠发展等重要的全球议题上承担了更大的责任。

　　Gates told hundreds of students attending the lecture of his high hopes for China's youth asthey enter the workforce at the time of "China's rise as a center of global progress andinnovation."

　　盖茨向数百名来听演讲的学生表达了他对中国年轻人寄予的厚望。他表示：“当你们步入社会时，恰逢中国崛起，成为全球发展和创新的中心。”

　　"The world's eyes are on China...the world's eyes are specifically on all of you... What anincredible thing is the beli that you can make the world a better place. There has never beena better moment," he said.

　　他说道：“全世界的目光都在关注中国……关注你们这些天之骄子……坚信你能让世界变得更美好是多么令人心潮澎湃的事，没有比眼下更好的时机了。”

　　"No matter what, if your ambition is to improve the world, this is the best time and the bestplace to do it."
