　　Sahara desert witnessed its first snow fall in nearly 40 years last week, and amateur photographer Karim Bouchetata has captured rare andstunning images of the snowfall.

　　Bouchetata took the photos of the rare occurrence last Monday in the small Saharan deserttown of Ain Sra, Algeria.

　　In his images, a thin layer of snow rests on deep orange dunes and forms whirling patternswhere the slopes are too steep for it to settle.
