  Egyptian security forces crushed the protest camps of thousands of supporters of the deposed Islamist president on Wednesday, shooting more than 200 of them dead in the bloodiest day in decades and polarising the Arab world&aposs most populous nation.

  埃及安全部队本周三对被罢免的前总统穆尔西支持者的营地实施“清场”行动,二百余人遭射杀身亡,这一天是几十年来最血腥的一天,也让这个阿拉伯世界人口最多的国家陷入极端分化状态。

  “清场”在文中用到的表达是to crush the protest camp,或者to crush protesters,另外也可以用to clear the protest camp表示。埃及国家电视台援引总统府声明说,埃及从14日开始进入紧急状态(state of emergency),为期一个月;同时在开罗和其他几个城市实行彻夜宵禁(dusk-to-dawn curfew)。
