提出加薪时绝对不能做的6件事.

  很多人都会问:我要这么开口和老板说我要加薪?求加薪的确是个技术活,说得好,不仅可以获得期盼中的加薪,还可以让老板意识到你的努力和工作成功;但是说得不好,就有可能给老板留下唯利是图的印象,甚至可能叫你收拾东西走人。

  1.Don&apost bring up your co-worker&aposs salary. First of all, you may not have all your facts right, and bringing up your colleague&aposs salary will put your manager into an uncomfortable position. What you should do is compare what you&aposre making to the industry average. Using the industry average will rlect well on you and will show your boss that you&aposve been doing your research.

  不要拿同事的薪水来说事。首先,你可能并不知道全部的事实,如果你拿同事的薪水来和经理谈加薪的话,就会把经理陷于尴尬的处境。你要做的是和你所在行业的平均薪资水平作比较。这样做可以很好地向你的老板说明,你是有做过功课的。

  2.Don&apost make it personal. The reason for your raise will be professional, so keep that in mind when you&aposre asking for more. What you need to do is write a list of your wins at work, which will show your boss that you do deserve that increase in salary.

  不要涉及个人私事。你获得加薪的理由应该是你的专业表现,所以你要拿专业表现来说明问题。你可以先列一张单子,指出你在工作中所做出的成绩,用事实告诉老板,你应该获得加薪。

  3.Don&apost get emotional.If things are not going your way or if you feel that your employer is wronging you, don&apost get emotional. Collect yourself and don&apost let your boss see that you&aposre upset. Instead, take some time to think it over after your meeting to carully craft your next move.

  4.Don&apost respond immediately if you&aposre unsure. If your boss offers you an alternative and not the raise you&aposre asking for, and if you have some doubt about it, don&apost immediately agree to it. Instead, ask her if you can take some time to think about it and let her know that you&aposll get back to her about her offer soon.

Perhaps more paid time off days or the opportunity to work from home — find out what your manager is willing to give you in lieu of a raise.

  6.Don&apost give ultimatums.People don&apost respond to threats very well and your manager will not be very happy if you give her an ultimatum. If you have other job opportunities, don&apost wave them in her face — just gracully move on if you have better chance of advancing elsewhere.

  不要下最后通牒。人们都不喜欢被威胁。你给老板下最后通牒,老板肯定会不高兴。如果你找好了新工作,别在老板面前得瑟。你只需要优雅地转身就好。
