For 67% of hiring managers who responded tothe survey, dressing provocatively is a majordeal breaker even moresignificant than having a typo in your application materials (58% foundthis tobe an interview killer).Chantal Verbeek, head of enterprise talent at ING U.S.FinancialServices, says she'll forgive a typo if the applicant's skills areextraordinary, but revealing orsloppy apparel equals an instant rejection。

Job seekers have also been blasting HRmanagers with questions about benits, vacation timeand schedule flexibilitymuch too soon in the interview process, according to the survey。(Thirtypercent of hiring managers say it's okay for applicants to inquire about salaryin post-interview follow-up conversations。) Some 39% of hiringmanagers surveyed said applicantsshouldn't bring up salary at all unless theinterviewer brings it up first。
