　　The word "strike" has many different meanings and uses. It's a very common word in English.

　　Strike这个单词有很多不同的含义和用法，这个单词在英语里很常见。

　　In the first set of examples, "strike" is a verb which means to hit something or someone:

　　在第一组例句中，strike作为动词，意为“击打某物或某人”：

　　A pedestrian was struck and killed by an SUV.
