12月GMAT作文机经:汽车公司的奢侈产品策略.

  讲automobile dealship’ owners 希望maximize their profit 。首先举例说六月时因为集中广告奢侈+比较贵的automobile,所以使得luxury land more expensive 的销量达到全年最高,接着又说二月的时候由于广告没有这样之类的,所以有所下降。最后得出结论,为了达到maximize their profit, dealship 应该将广告集中在高大上的产品上,year round.

  V1 一个汽车公司的管理者说, 6月份的时候他们将广告的重心放在了奢侈汽车上,展览也以奢侈产品为主,结果是奢侈产品和廉价的产品销量都提高了;2月份时,他们改变了策略,即将重心放在了廉价产品上,结果两种产品的销量都下降;管理者因此提议要整年都以奢侈产品的广告和展览为主,这样才能保证那些潜在消费者在购买奢侈产品的同时购买一些廉价产品。

  V2 The business manager of a local auto dealership recommended the following in a memo to the dealership’s owners: “During the month of June, when we advertised our luxury automobile models in the local newspapers and placed them in prominent positions on our lot and in our showroom, combined sales for both luxury models and our more inexpensive models reached the highest point for the year. In February, when we focused our advertisements on our inexpensive models and featured them on our lot and in our showroom, overall sales were lower. Clearly, if we want to maximize our profits, we need to put our luxury line front and center in a more prominent position, year-round. The luxury line clearly attracts potential consumers who, once they set foot on our auto lot, purchase a wide variety of automobiles that generate revenue for this dealership.

  1. 二者选一:The business manager simply focuses on the two extremes–that the dealership should advertise luxury vehicles, or that the dealership should advertise inexpensive vehicles. The manager fails to acknowlegde and analyze the possibly of a mixed marketing campaign.

  2. 无关假设:Advertisements on the luxury automobile clearly attracts potential consumers

  It should be better evaluated by analyzing the sales data and by asking customers about their purchasing decisions

  3. 错误类别:The author unfairly make the conclusion that advertisements only in inexpensive models caused overall sales were lower. A simple example is that February only has 28 days while June has 30. February also has more holidays like Presidents’ Day on which car dealerships are likely closed, and thus when no sales will take place.
