　　The University of Queensland (UQ) has been approved to participate in the Australian Government’s Streamlined Visa Processing (SVP) initiative that was implemented on 24 March 2012 by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection.

　　This initiative will benit many international students by streamlining the visa application process, in terms of the documentation required and, therore, the length of time it takes a visa to be issued.

　　What is Streamlined Visa Processing?

　　Streamlined Visa Processing (SVP) is an initiative that was implemented on 24 March 2012 by theDepartment of Immigration and Border Protection.

　　Under this initiative, the Department will assess all student visa applicants who are eligible for SVP as though they were a low immigration risk (similar to the current Assessment Level 1), regardless of their country of origin. This reduces the amount of documentation required and the length of time it takes to issue the student visa.
