美国大学申请之不同版本的Common Application.

申请EA，ED的同学均已在11月1日前顺利提交了Common Application，所有申请提前录取的学生的Application Essays都经过了我及外教的反复修改，润色；Common Application及Supplementary Forms也在我的指导下顺利填完，在线提交。10月30日（周五），所有提前申请的同学们均大功告成，这一点令我颇感欣慰，短短一个月之内，近30名同学的申请毫无疏漏且高质量地完成，实属不易。 最近，许多同学找我问这样一个问题，Commonapp提交之后，还能不能做修改？必须修改怎么办？同学们想要修改的理由无非有四：一，想换 Counselor，重新写推荐信及填写secondary school report和international supplement；二，11月7日又参加了一次SAT考试，据本人预测，成绩肯定会比10月10日考的那次要高很多，或者新考的托福/雅思成绩出来了；三，美国大学录取“法无定法”，不同的大学对学生的要求差异甚大，所以同学们本着“量体裁衣”的原则，希望用不同的commonapp版本申请不同的大学。第四类属于后知后觉类，提交commonapp之后，才反省到：我还有很有说服力的课外活动忘记写上去了等等。 作为两大“共同申请”平台之一的commonapp.org（另一家是The Universal College Application），在初始阶段，存在的最大问题是：一旦提交一所大学的申请，就不能修改信息。要修改信息，必须另外申请新帐号，重新输入大量信息，不但耗费时间，这种行为也不被commonapp 认可。好在Commonapp于2007年进行了改进，允许copy (replicate)的操作来创建Alternate application versions，以供同学们用不同的版本申请不同的大学。 现在向大家一步步展示： 1.You must submit the Common Application to at least one institution first. You cannot create an alternate version until this has occurred. 你必须至少向一个大学提交Common Application之后才能创建新的版本，若之前未提交过，不能进行创建新版本的操作。 2. You must log out of the application then go to this special URL:www.aoji.cn and login using your existing User Name and Password. 点击log out，退出，然后点击www.aoji.cn ，用你已经有的帐号正常登录。 3. Upon login you will be taken to the &apos&aposCommon Application&apos&apos page, where you will see information about the application you have already submitted. 这次登录的页面你是从来没有见到过的，这个screen叫做 ‘Application Versions’, 你可以看到已经递交的申请，默认名字、时间等。 4. The ability to create an alternate version of your submitted Common Application is now activated, and you should click on the ‘Replicate’ link to make an alternate version of your submitted application. When this is complete, a second version will be visible on your screen and a special drop down list that will appear in the upper right corner of your application. You can use this drop down to move between application versions. 现在就可以创建新的版本了。点击Replicate，一个对话框会弹出，问你“Do you want to create a new version of this common application?”，你点yes或者OK，就自动生成一个新的，可以修改的版本了。 5.All data from your original version of your Common Application will be transferred to your alternate version, with the exception of any documents that you uploaded. You may edit any of this information bore you submit it to another institution. Commonapp还有一项功能，即把原来版本的信息数据转移到新的版本，但是你在commonapp上载的文件不能修改。
