Cover Letter原本是一个应聘者向公司寄送材料时的一个扉页材料。它简洁的描述了应聘者的应聘动机和所提动的材料内容。现在一些申请者也在申请材料的扉页中附上这一份邮件，但目的主要是相当于一个“材料目录”的作用。
