　　Whatever we do, we all hope to get success which is our goal. The happiness, pleasure and sense of accomplishment which are brought by the success cannot be expressed by words. That is really a great feeling. I am also a person who is always perusing the successful feeling. From the success, I can find my confidence and a lot of fun. For me, my success lies in the realization of my dream that is to make great achievements in Computer Science and Engineering.

　　My fascination in computer dates back to my childhood. I was greatly charmed by the high ficiency and incredible ability to calculate. I guess I was born to be so inquisitive that I am eager to apprehend everything. With the instruction of my parents, I began learning knowledge about electricity and circuits in my second year of primary school. As I became older, I gradually came to contact with the computer, and I found the computer was very fantastic! Although I did not exactly know how to write programs yet at that time, I determined to learn it in the future. In 2003, the opportunity came to me. I came out to be No.1 in College Entrance Examination in Ziliujing District, Zigong City in Sichuan province, and was registered into University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (Beihang University). To my delight, I was selected to study in School of Advanced Engineering which was made up of top 1% students in our grade in the whole university.

　　At university, I greedily absorbed relative knowledge. Mathematical Analysis，Advanced Algebra，Probability and Statistics etc. As a student in the elite class, my teachers were invited from Peking University. While performing well in all my courses, I also cherished every opportunity in each course project to combine theories with practice to deepen my understanding of textbook knowledge and strengthen my hands-on experience. Among all the projects I have taken part in, I think, the most significant one is the Implementation of Free Call based on Bluetooth Technology.

　　The project was sponsored by SRTP (Students Research Training Program) Fund at our university, which was supposed to realize free call by some new characters of Bluetooth. As the general schemer and establishment person, I enjoyed the suffering and pleasure in the whole process. The group was made up of 4 persons, so harmonization was important. As the head of the group, I must know the strong points and short points of each person so that I could ficiently give tasks to the right person. On the other hand, as a participant, I was in charge of voice-encoding & decoding which was the most important part of this program. In this process, we were often visited by troubles. In the beginning, we were unfamiliar with Symbian system, nor C++ language, so our program went slowly. Two of the members were frustrated so much that they wanted to give up. However, I believed that difficulty was the stepping-stone for the brave. With my persistence, we united together again and continued our program.

　　In order to solve the problem, we consulted a great deal of material, but I found that there were few books about Symbian system. Thereby, I had to visited English website. In this way, I got most of the information that I needed as well as improved my English. After nearly ten-month of work, we debugged our first product. However, since Bluetooth’s available distance is just 10~20meters, our product worked in a limited distance, only around 10 meters. After serious analysis and hot discussion, we decided to introduce Wi-Fi as medium, which will expand the distance 10 times. Just as the proverb going, the bitterness ends and the wit begin. Finally, we declared our success with our debugged product that took us more than one year. Moreover, we got Second-class Prize in Fengru Cup Scientific Competition with our debugged product.

　　After the research, I become more mature. I learned a lot, including something about programming as well as strengthened what I had learned in class. Moreover, I improved my organization ability and English. The result gives me the sense of success, which makes me crazier about computer. The research experience and knowledge I acquired helped me a lot in my future study and research.

　　Research and experiments on computer make me happy and strengthen my interests in it. Therore, I make use of every chance to take part in research or experiment, including my homework, course designs, internship etc., which improve my operation ability a lot. With rich research experiments, I produced two papers, one published and the other one to be published—Implementation of Free Mobile Phone-Communication Based on Bluetooth and Two Modified Bubble Sort Algorithm and Their Comparison. In addition, throughout my undergraduate studies, I kept achieving prizes, honors and scholarships of various kinds, including outstanding scholastic performance, excellent student leader, social work, and scientific and technological events, etc.

　　Taking part in the projects continuously, I tasted the successful feeling continuously, and I gradually love this feeling. But I know if I want to continue to succeed, I need more knowledge and more opportunities. So I decide to undertake my further study. Moreover, from our experiment, I find the information and materials are not enough, some of which can decide the research result. Therore, I am eager to study abroad to learn advanced theories and other relative knowledge so that I am able to make achievements in the forthcoming 3G times. With highly nurturing academic environment, excellent professors, up-to-date technologies and concepts and first-class equipment, University of Bristol is my first choice. Based on my research experience and solid knowledge, I believe I can be successful in both further study and future career.
