Assistant Professor Faculty - Behavioral Neuroscience

The Department of Psychology at Michigan State University invites applications for two full-time (9 month) tenure-system faculty positions in Behavioral Neuroscience that will begin August 16, 2016. We anticipate hiring one position at the Assistant Professor level; the rank of the other position is open. All applicants must have a Ph.D. in psychology, neuroscience, or related field, and postdoctoral training and/or experience as a faculty member is highly desirable. All applicants studying fundamental questions in Behavioral Neuroscience will be considered, and we are particularly interested in individuals with research programs that can bridge from this area to one or more of the other programs within the Psychology Department. Applicants using modern, multi-method approaches to study topics related to motivated behavior are especially encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will be expected to establish a productive and extramurally-funded research program, contribute to the teaching and service missions of the Department of Psychology and the Behavioral Neuroscience Graduate Program, and will have opportunities to affiliate with MSU’s interdepartmental Neuroscience Program.
