赴英国留学的中国学生人数也在不断上涨。
中国学生留英人数：五年增长近一倍 英国高等教育统计署数据（HESA）显示，2008/2009学年，第一次在英国高校注册的中国学生人数约为28,000人；到2012/2013学年，第一次在英国高校注册的中国学生人数增至56,535人。五年间，赴英国留学的中国学生人数增长近一倍。李子木表示，从澳际教育集团今年的数据来看，2013/2014学年，中国赴英国留学的人数略有增长。他预计，打算在2015年赴英留学的申请竞争将更加激烈。

出国留学大军整体呈低龄化发展趋势，其中出国读高中和本科的学生比例增长最为迅速。澳际教育集团英国教育中心《2014
英国留学申请大数据》显示，2013年9月至2014年4月申请季，申请去英国读高中和本科的学生比例占36.5%，其中申请英国本科、本科预科和文凭课程的学生占25.5%。
英国名校申请：竞争日趋白热化 赴英留学人数逐年增加，但英国高校的录取要求却一年比一年高，这使名校申请的竞争日趋白热化。《2014英国留学申请大数据》显示，澳际2013年9月到2014年4月申请季，最难申请的三大英国名校分别是剑桥大学（全英排名第1）、伦敦大学
帝国理工学院（全英排名第5）和伦敦大学政治经济学院（全英排名第3），申请成功率分别仅为2.00%、5.00%和17.86%。
李子木介绍，通常英国名校要求学生有优秀的学术背景，如211/985院校、在校成绩平均85或以上、雅思成绩7.0或以上、商科学生GMAT成绩710或以上。同时，英国名校还要求学生有良好的非学术背景，如论文发表、名企实习经验、知名竞赛获奖、研究项目、海外名校交流经历、知名教授或业界名人推荐信、艺体特长等。另外，面试、论文、视频准备等复杂且漫长的申请与审理流程对学生而言也是一大考验。
英国研究生申请：提早准备抢占先机 “英国研究生采取滚动录取的方式，即先到先得。”李子木介绍，“希望去英国读研究生的中国学生数量不断增加，为保证班级内国际学生比例的均衡，有些专业会专门为中国学生设置单独的截止时间。” 根据澳际教育集团英国教育中心多年的名校申请经验，大多数英国高校通常提前一年开放研究生申请，也就是在每年的9月份开始下一年的研究生招生工作。
在平时的
留学咨询中，澳际英国顾问发现不少学生都有“时间充足不着急”的观念。李子木提醒，在“先到先得”的录取原则下，提前申请对希望冲刺英国名校的中国学生来说非常重要。因此，他建议学生现在就结合自身条件，确定留学的目标院校和专业，并充分准备有竞争力的申请材料，以便在英国高校第一轮申请开放时及时提交材料，抢占先机，提高名校申请成功率。

Lucinda Fraser, managing director of Oxbridge Applications, the student consultancy service, said undergraduates were increasingly prioritising quality in the era of higher fees.
