社会工作（Social Work）专业是一个专业性项目，如果说其他专业主要教学生知识和应用技能，那么社会工作专业除了教这两项之外，还会向学生们传达社工的价值观 利他主义。用一句话来讲，社会工作专业的学生学习的是如何帮助个人，家庭，集体和社区来应对社会问题。
社会工作专业硕士学位被美国的USNEWS归类为健康类专业。
在分支方面，纵向来说，我们可以将其分为三大类，分别为：1.偏实践的方向；2.偏管理的方向；3.偏研究的方向。
横向的话还可以分为如下四大类：1.关注儿童和家庭；2.与教师、家庭和学校的管理者合作，共同帮助学生全面发展；3健康保健社工，做患者及患者家属的心里健康康复；4.关注心里健康和药品滥用方面。
申请要求：1.TOFEL/ILETS 2.大部分学校不需要GRE 3.相关专业背景(更看重学生参加过的实习，志愿者的活动，与社工相关的工作和研究)

* An interdisciplinary liberal arts background, spanning both social and biological sciences, is the ideal preparation for the MSW program, but you are encouraged to apply even if your bachelor s degree was not in the liberal arts. We accept all majors
*GPA:3.0+
* minimum score of 100, with no less than 20 in each category
minimum total score of 6.5, with no less than 6 points on each band score
* GRE is not required for admission to the MSW program
