你有一条美国本科留学信息未查收：CA文书新题来了！

申请文书 是申请过程中必须经历的 命题作文 。如今，申请美国大学的平台除了原本的Common Application（以下简称CA）之外，还有去年把同学们搞得神经紧张的CAAS系统。

对于申请竞争激烈的美国来说，申请者学会应对各种变化是必备的能力之一，因为CA官网最近公布了2017-2018新的文书题目，较之前发生了较大的变化。据悉，之所以作出调整变化的原因是一项基于超过5000人对CA文书题目的反馈，而其中超过半数的反馈者是学生。

例如，在之前的文书话题中，有一项命题是要求学生形容 你曾经的一次失败经历 ，旨在让学生思考自己曾经是怎样处理没有意料到的困难，而这项经历则必须是真实的。但根据反馈来看，题目中的 failure 则限制了学生的发挥。于是在2017-2018年的命题中，CA对此作出了调整：要求学生思考的范围要更广，不仅仅是 失败 ，还有 挑战 和 挫折 。

2017-2018年文书在最后新增了两道新命题。第一个命题是要求学生分享自己关于求知欲的经历(intellectual curiosity)，第二个命题是自选话题作文，但要注意的是自由话题的文章往往更能突出学生的自我观点和品质，凸显自我定位和自我思考，并不仅仅拘泥于创造性。

1. Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story. [No change]

2. The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience? [Revised]

3. Rlect on a time when you questioned or challenged a beli or idea. What prompted your thinking? What was the outcome? [Revised]

4. Describe a problem you've solved or a problem you'd like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma - anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution. [No change]

5. Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others. [Revised]

6. Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more? [New]

7. Share an essay on any topic of your choice. It can be one you've already written, one that responds to a different prompt, or one of your own design. [New]
