美国材料工程硕士课程设置
基础课：科学社会主义理论、自然辩证法、外语、数学、计算机应用技术等。
技术基础课：材料工程理论基础、材料检测技术、过程控制原理等。
专业课：材料合成与制备技术、材料结构与性能、材料近代研究方法、材料工程进展等方面的课程。
上述课程，可定为学位课程或选修课程，此外，还可以根据培养单位特点及企业需要选择或适当增设其他课程。课程学习总学分不少于28学分。
美国材料工程硕士就业前景
材料工程专业就业十分广泛，通常就职于：计算机和电子设备制造，导航、测量、医学电子设备、控制设备制造，传播设备制造，交通运输工具制造，航天设备和零件制造，塑料橡胶产品制造等。
具体来说，金属材料专业的毕业生，大多数人会选择继续深入研究;
无机非金属材料方向，就业领域会涉及冶金、机械、建筑、电力等行业部门的工矿企业和科研院所，产品涵盖军工、民用。目前该专业就业状况供求基本平衡，但在从事更高层次的材料人才却严重短缺;
高分子材料的毕业生在就业方面可以从事科学研究、技术开发、工艺和设备设计、生产及经营管理等方面工作，就业前景很不错;
