This programme is designed to provide a thorough training in aspects of subsurface geology, geophysics and geoengineering that relate to the exploration, appraisal and development of petroleum. This is a collaborative MSc between Heriot-Watt University, the University of Edinburgh and Newcastle University. Since Newcastle University has significant expertise in petroleum systems analysis and petroleum geochemistry, our contribution to the programme is supervising those students whose dissertations are in these areas, and teaching selected modules. The programme starts in October and, with the exception of the field course, is taught at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh.
