Yes, we are laid back. We spend a great deal of time outdoors and we're active. Our city has a youthfulness and vitality. Our climate is mild, which means we can golf and sail year round. The mountains that overlook the city are only half an hour from downtown, allowing us to hit the slopes at a moment's notice all season long - even right after work for an evening of night skiing. But we also enjoy the finer things in life, and can choose from some of the finest dining in North America and award-winning B.C. wines.

And We're Cultured - We're home to a world class Symphony Orchestra, Opera Company, Ballet Company and numerous arts clubs, playhouses, nightclubs and theatres. The summer of 2003 saw Cirque du Soleil perform to sold-out crowds every night. The summers are always jamed packed in Vancouver when festival season starts. It kicks off with the Children's Festival in May, leads into the International Jazz Festival and Dragon Boat Festival in June, gains momentum with the Folk Fest in July and rounds out with the Celebration of Lights Fireworks competition in July and August, to name just a few.
