As college costs rise, Princeton s need-based financial aid program has more than kept pace. In fact, since 2003 our financial aid spending has grown by more than 150%, compared to a 47% rise in tuition. By increasing grants at a rate 3 times greater than tuition, Princeton has become more affordable today for families who qualify for aid than at any other time in the last 30 years. Approximately 60% of our students receive need-based aid, with an average grant approaching $40,000.

Princeton has a long history of providing access through financial aid for qualified students. For more than three decades, we've considered students for admission to Princeton without concern over their families' ability to pay and offered aid to cover 100 percent of each admitted student s need.
