人愁多看报，积累词汇我有妙招

　　你是不是经常发现词汇不够用?好不容易背了好多遍的单词，在写作的时候竟然拼不出来?那么，你在记忆单词时肯定出了问题，什么问题呢?情境的问题!凡是孤立的去记忆单词，哪怕你是重复了多少遍，这都不可靠!那我为什么说情境可靠呢?为什么要读报呢?先给大家举个例子!

　　例一:

　　The Venerable Abbot Shi Yongxin leading China Songshan Shaolin Temple Delegation visited Google on March 19 and Apple on March 20. Although the technology world is vastly different from the Kung Fu and Zen of the Shaolin Temple, when the two worlds meet, Shi Yongxin said he saw similarities between working at Google and practicing Kung Fu, and the Apple products have a touch of Zen.

　　1. venerable:有一定词汇储备的小伙伴是不是很容易联想到vulnerable呢?那么vulnerable是什么意思呢?我们先来看一个句子:

　　The volunteers work mainly with the elderly and other vulnerable groups.

　　志愿者们主要是和老年人以及弱势群体打交道。

　　记住了没有?vulnerable: someone who is vulnerable can be easily harmed or hurt.再记不住的话，我这颗易受伤害的玻璃心就要碎了!

　　回到这个句子venerable用英文更容易解释，注意哦，俩字old and respected，比方说a venerable tradition

　　2. abbot:有的小朋友一看到这个词就激动不已，“哎，我知道，是个人名!” “好像，有点像欸”，你们说是不是呢?是不是记成了Tony Abbott!这可不是澳大利亚总理阿博特!这里说的是我们尊者释永信住持!没错abbot就是住持的意思!

　　例二:

　　Despite the IOC estimating costs for "Olympic villages, sports venues and other infrastructure "would be £962m ($1.5bn), it said Beijing "will rely heavily on existing venues, including those built for the Games in 2008".

　　3. venue:会不会联想到另外一个词呢?revenue?revenue是什么鬼呢?再想一下IRS不就是Internal Revenue Service吗?在美剧或者电影里，尤其是《幸福来敲门》里爸爸没钱交税，交税给谁?没错IRS国税局!revenue是指收入或者税收。这里的venue就是用revenue来建造的体育场馆。

　　4. infrastructure:用revenue除了建造专业的sports venues，还要给公众带来福利的嘛，没错infrastructure就是指公共设施，用来便民的~~~奥运会还是会带来好处的嘛，怎么听起来有点牵强呢?
