滑铁卢大学本科语言要求

滑铁卢大学，是加拿大非常有名的一所名校，特别是在精算，统计，应用数学，计算机科学等理工科领域，在北美都是首屈一指的！但是对于这样的加拿大名校，在申请的时候，往往国内学生并不真正的了解其录取要求，其实主要就是在语言方面！
 
很多学生和家长为了顺利的出国留学，都已经在国内准备了一段时间的语言学习，无论是雅思还是托福，加拿大大学都是可以认可成绩的，但是认可的成绩要求各不一样，例如滑铁卢大学，本科直录要求：
 
 雅思的分数是7分，没有单项要求

IELTS Academic - International English Language Testing System

托福的总分是90分，但是写作25分，口语25分，难度还是很大的

Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) - Test Of English as a Foreign Language

90 Writing 25 Speaking 25

但是如果总分不够或者是单项不够的话，已经有了雅思5.5，托福要求74分以上可以就读Bridge to Academic Success in English，BASE课程
还有针对于所有工程专业除了建筑专业，如果学生有很高的英语分数了，但是依然不够本科直读语言要求，可以申请IBASE课程，7周课程，7月13日开课就读8月底，顺利通过后，同年9月份进入大一，不用再等一年才能进入工程专业
Depending on your English language test score and the requirements of the program you applied to, you will be admitted to either 1 or 2 terms of BASE.
For all Engineering programs, if you have high English language test scores, you may be enrolled in iBASE, an intensive 7-week summer session.
For Engineering programs other than Architecture, Biomedical Engineering, or Systems Design Engineering, if you have lower English language test scores, you will be enrolled in 2 terms of the BASE program.
To be enrolled in BASE, you must achieve the minimum in one of these ELP tests:

Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) (Test of English as a Foreign Language)	80 overall OR 90 overall (with writing and speaking less than 25)	At least 74 overall
IELTS (International English Language Testing System)	At least 6.5 overall (with at least 6.0 in writing)	At least 5.5 overall (with at least 5.0 in writing) OR 6.5 overall (with less than 6.0 in writing)

 
Are your test scores below the requirements listed above? You still may be eligible for admission.

• If your English language test scores do not meet our requirements, you may still qualify for conditional admission to Waterloo. The Bridge to Academic Success in English is available in most programs, except the Faculty of Mathematics. 

 
 如果是申请数学学院的话，有专门的English Language for Academic Studies (ELAS) program可以录取，要求是雅思5.5以上，托福在64分以上

• If you are applying to the Faculty of Mathematics and your scores are below the above levels, you may be eligible for conditional admission through the English Language for Academic Studies (ELAS) program.

 BASE学术语言桥梁课程，提供这样录取的专业有很多，如下表：

Engineering/iBASE NEW!	All Waterloo Engineering programs (except Architecture). iBASE is an intensive 7-week program offered to Engineering applicants with high English language test scores just below Waterloo’s standard English language requirements.
Environment/BASE	Environment and Resource Studies***, Geography and Environmental Management, International Development, Knowledge Integration
Math	Offers the English Language for Academic Studies program instead of BASE
Science/BASE	All programs*, except Biotechnology/Chartered Professional Accountancy, Biotechnology/Economics, Science and Aviation
