Entry requirements
A minimum of a second-class UK Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering or a closely related subject, or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the principal disciplines within civil engineering. Normally, only candidates with a first degree at upper-second level or higher will be accepted, although applicants with a lower second-class degree supported by good performance in the core subjects (structures, geotechnics, fluids) or extensive work experience covering these areas will be considered.
IELTS：Overall grade of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each of the subtests.

Entry requirements
 
Applications are invited from undergraduates completing their first degree, as well as those with relevant industrial and professional experience. Applications may be considered from those with degrees in other branches of engineering, natural sciences, earth sciences and other numerate disciplines. The minimum entry requirement for consideration is a good degree from a UK university (at upper second class or above), or an overseas equivalent. Special cases, based on relevant experience, may be made in some circumstances.

A minimum of 60 per cent in an honours degree in civil engineering or equivalent accredited to CEng, or a minimum of 70 per cent in an honours degree in civil engineering accredited to IEng. Overseas equivalent qualifications are also welcome. Alternatively, at least five years’ relevant industrial experience (preferably codified design) or a professional qualification (for example, CEng). Strength in geotechnical engineering also needs to be demonstrated for this programme.

Entry requirement for recent graduates
A degree equivalent to a UK upper second class honours (2:1) degree or higher in civil engineering or a related subject. Applicants are required to provide a statement detailing their experience in structural engineering including structural analysis, the design of reinforced concrete and steelwork structures and foundations.
Entry requirement for graduates with at least 3 years relevant work experience
A minimum of a degree equivalent to a UK second class honours (2:2) degree in civil engineering or a related subject, or associate membership of an appropriate professional engineering institution. Applicants are required to provide a statement detailing their experience in structural engineering, structural analysis, the design of reinforced concrete and steelwork structures and foundations.

Applicants for admission to the MSc/PG Diploma should normally hold, or be expecting to achieve, a good first degree (Bachelor or Master level) or other approved qualification at an equivalent level. This would usually be Civil Engineering or a related discipline. Applications from holders of pertinent non-engineering degrees will be welcome.
Relevant post-graduate experience in industry will also be taken into account in considering applications and holders of CEng or IEng qualifications, or equivalent, but without a degree, are also invited to apply.
